Cloud note-takers are a confidentiality problem in venture
Think about what crosses your calendar in a normal week: a founder's unreleased product and real revenue numbers, a cap table mid-negotiation, partners speaking candidly about live deals, LPs discussing fund performance. All of it is shared with you on trust, and most of it would embarrass someone if it ended up in the wrong place.
Most AI note-takers are cloud services. To give you a summary, they either upload the meeting audio to their servers to transcribe it, or they send a recorder bot to join the call. An on-device Whisper speech model transcribes the audio on your Mac, and the transcript streams live while the meeting is happening, so there is no end-of-meeting wait. A local language model then writes the clean summary, key decisions, and action items roughly three seconds after you hang up, built on top of any rough notes you typed, so your own words are preserved.
Every transcript goes into a full-text search index that also lives on your device, so you can ask your meetings questions later: what did that founder say about net revenue retention, which fund did the LP mention, what did we commit to in the Tuesday partner meeting. Because the whole pipeline is local, Stillnote keeps working with no internet connection, and the app keeps itself current with automatic updates.

Can Stillnote tell me who said what?
Partly, and we would rather be honest about it. Speaker naming is suggestion-based, not magic: Stillnote suggests speaker labels and you confirm or relabel them. As with any AI tool, review the transcript and summary before relying on them.
Do I have to wait until the meeting ends to see the transcript?
No. Transcription streams live while the meeting is happening, so the raw transcript is already there when you hang up. Roughly three seconds after the call ends, Stillnote produces the clean summary, key decisions, and action items, built on top of any rough notes you typed during the call.
